Artisan Switch Plates
Decorative Light Switch Plate Covers by Lynette Burbage
     I use a standard size style of switch plate.  Some homes use a larger plate such as a Midi or a Grande.  To establish the size plate you require measure your current plate from it's outer most edges.  The dimensions of each gang (number of switches the plate accomodates) is listed below. 
    Standard Plate

single - 2 3/4" x 4 1/2"        

double- 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"       

triple   - 6 1/4" x 4 1/2"        
 
quad   - 8 1/8" x 4 1/2"

            Midi

           width   x   height
single - 3 1/8" x 4 7/8"

double- 4 7/8" x 4 7/8"

triple  - 6 3/4" x 4 7/8"

        Grande

         width    x    height
single - 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"

double- 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
